Oxley Fantastic album. First time hearing the band too, the good news, I have some past releases to delve into. Great bluesy, grime filled heavy metal. Very impressed. Favorite track: Storms of Mars.

Calen Henry IV is a towering achievement. Beastwars have always been darker than average for stoner rock, dealing obliquely with environmental ruin and existential angst. IV turns the lens deeply inward and delivers their most emotionally raw and engrossing album yet. It’s as harrowing as it is addicting to listen to and it’s my favourite album of 2019. Favorite track: Storms of Mars.

ghostofgilius These guys have restored my faith in heavy music and have inspired me to pick up my guitar and bass again & Obey The Riff. It's hard for me to pick a favorite but I really dig the vocals and lyrics to Raise The Sword, To hear something uplifting in this style is refreshing. 10/10 all day long. Here's hoping to seeing them live in the USA at some point. Favorite track: Raise the Sword.

My sins have shaped me My regrets visit regularly Love's become an elusive thing My heart has retreated Breathe long Breathe wise Don't fall Raise the Sword My sins have shaped me My regrets visit regularly Love's become an elusive thing My heart has retreated Breathe long Breathe wise Don't fall Raise the Sword Searching for the light In your time of dying Trying to be right When you've only known wrong Search for the light In the time of dying Always try to be right When you've only known wrong Breathe long Breathe wise Don't fall Raise the Sword

Pray for blood First light of the sun Pray for blood First light of the sun Hold the hand Broken in time All of us burning All of the time Speak of old kings Hands of your loss Let everyone say What have we done Pray for blood First light of the sun Pray for blood First light of the sun Times are sacred Wolves and prey Times are sacred Wolves and prey Through mountains so big Through a sky of black Nights so dark At the time of dying light In the setting sun In the dying light At the end of life Godspeed into the night Pray for blood At the light of the sun Praying for blood At the light of the sun

Shifting sands of Earth Like a storm on Mars Oh let me live Oh give me ten more years You beg than you cry Oh let me build new Rome Oh let me see the stars Oh let me see the world A refugee A world as cruel as the last Remember thee old Gods Remember their rage Oh how you count the days And the nights slip away And the storm and it’s rage War, the hell, every place Let me live Give me ten more years Let the child grow Let me see new Rome Like shifting sands of Earth Like a storm on Mars I want to be alive To see my child grow You count all the days Nights slip away Oh the shifting sand Like a storm on Mars Let me live You beg than cry Oh give me ten more years Let me see new Rome I will build with mind I will build it of soul Be like the Gods Let me rise Shifting sands of Earth Like a war on Mars Give me ten more years Let the child live To build new Rome On the foot steps of Mars Let the crow become the brave Let the mind speak

Here I lie At the top of the mountain I can see All your devilish thrills It was like lightning Burnt up inside You pray for forgiveness You are a devil's child Here I lie At the top of a mountain It's a lightning strike All theses devilish smiles No way to heaven System and time The sea is wild You are alive Oh God, oh God Bring us your neon cross Oh God, oh God Drive your speed machine You can never give in You can never give up You can never get away this From your mortal decay You can never give in You can never give up You can never get away From your mortal decay

Empty House At the foot of the hill Gravel road To a Holy Mountain Pyramid in the hills Red sky See her omens come alive See it enter your mind Empty House At the foot of the hill Gravel road To a Holy Mountain Omens are red In the middle of your mind Roads of mist Women of time With hands pointed right Straight to the sky Omens are red In the middle of your mind Empty house At the foot of the hill Old gravel road To the Holy Mountain All omens are red In the middle of your mind Alive in the forest Alive in the sky Empty house At the foot of the hill Old gravel road To a Holy Mountain

See the sound The sound you say I see the noise The noise that you gave And I try for forgiveness In the time of the damned And nothing is better Than being in the ground Say those words Those times I was waiting I lied when I said I’d love you forever A gift a little thing I swore I would be true But the lies I have spoken Have damned me to you The words I have spoken The times have been In the land of the crazy In the time of the mad In a way I wait for no one For I am nothing And the soul never dies It lies and waits for ever Say those words The times I was waiting I lied when I said I would love you forever And I took everything And I swore I would be true But the lies I have spoken Damned me to you See the sound The sound that you make I see the noise The noise that you gave And I try for forgiveness In the time of the damned And nothing is better Than being in the ground

Demons are real See them in the light Further into the unknown Let me hold you The chains are old of the wicked The temple is cold and broken You stumble and fall And live a little longer Time is but a dream And the graveyard only nearer Blessed is The Traveller Blessed is the old Blessed is the lonely and the lost Canopy of time and space Listen to it's will It calls your name Back to the beginning Blessed is The Traveller Blessed is the old Blessed is the lonely and the lost Blessed is the world Blessed is this world Blessed is the world And we all must leave

Hey hold the hand All the blood is dried Seeing these mountains of shame Telling my lies Hey hold the hand Of the chosen few Can I ride the wind Like you choose to do Like an outlaw Broken and wounded Swearing at my troubles Hey hold the hand All these crimes I own Old man Is it time Time to die Die like evil Die like hate My great war is over Just a bitter, bitter memory Hey hold the hand Of the chosen few Chased like an outlaw Bloodied, dazed and lost Like all this blood It will wash away And like this blood It will wash away

about

In January 2018, 1 week after our singer Matt completed his chemotherapy treatment, we booked 10 days at Blue Barn studio to record a new album.

Although Matt was responding well to treatment, the band felt an urgent need to capture new songs as a thank you to all the fans that supported him and as a way of reconnecting with each other after our tumultuous breakup.

Matt's illness put the band and what we meant to each other in perspective.

We are feel honoured to have touched your lives with our music and are proud to present to you our new album "IV".

We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we did making it. Obey the Riff, Long Live the Beast.

Find us on Facebook if you are interested in vinyl or merch.

about

BEASTWARS Wellington, New Zealand

New Zealand sludge metal four-piece Beastwars abide by one steadfast maxim: Obey the Riff. Described as "a mongrel mix of Kyuss, Neurosis, and the mighty Godflesh..." (NZ Herald) and playing "heavy tunes for heavy times" (ALARM), the Wellington-based sonic soothsayers utilize the chaos that engulfs our world as ammunition for their defiant howls into the abyss. ... more
